Ionic Liquids for Battery Applications

Universidade de Sao Paulo Summer 2011

Ionic Liquids are interesting materials in battery applications due to their low vapor pressure and large electrochemical windows. This enables support for more energy dense metals.

I worked in the Laboratory of Electroactive Materials at the Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil under Dr. Roberto Torresi. My responsibility was to synthesize ionic liquids and to profile the electrochemical properties using different types of electrodes. I also worked with graduate students in the lab with writing papers in English.
